About the KSO
Mission
The Kindred Spirits Orchestra is committed to changing lives through music’s extraordinary power to communicate, inspire, uplift, educate, and entertain. Through outstanding live performances that are evocative, dramatic, and passionate we seek to elate avid patrons and develop, in collaboration, new audiences of all ages for classical music. Based in Markham (Ontario), the Kindred Spirits Orchestra is dedicated to enriching the cultural life of the Greater Markham, Richmond Hill, and Unionville communities in Southern Ontario, through the promotion and presentation of outstanding musical performances and the development of a strong financially viable organization.
Corporate and private functions and events
We offer a vast choice of repertoire (classical, operatic, Broadway and light classics) for a variety of corporate and private functions and events. Our string quartet and wind quintet has performed at Annual General Meetings, Employees and Volunteers recognition events, Christmas dinners, New Year's Levees and celebrations, weddings, bar and bat mitzvah, corporate product launches, and more. Add a touch of class to your event and consider including a live music performance to your event. We will work with you on every detail and make a lasting impression on your event. Rehearsals
Kindred Spirits Orchestra rehearsals are held on every Monday from 7:15 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Old Unionville Library Centre (Kennedy Rd. and Hwy 7). We have exclusive access to the entire building, which allows us to hold sectional rehearsals and work simultaneously on various repertoire. We also have our own music stands and a production manager who takes care of all the set up so that you can enjoy making music. We provide with light snacks and refreshments during the break.
