Biography

Arpad Josephson

Arpad Josephson was born in Montreal. He started violin lessons at the age of seven at the Royal Conservatory in Toronto, and continued his studies at the University of Western Ontario where he received his degree in Music Performance. His teachers over the years have included Eugene Cash,Kathey Rapaport, Betty-jean hagen and Lorand Fenyves. Arpad has performed with numerous orchestras including Orchestra London, Guelph, Niagara, Windsor, Oshawa symphonies, the Royal Conservatory Orchestra, the National Academy orchestra as well as the chamber orchestras of Kitchener and Oakville.

He has toured across Canada, the United States, Singapore, China and South Korea. As a soloist, he has performed concerti by Bach and Vivaldi, Lalo's Symphonie Espagnole, Beriot's Violin Concerto No. 6, Marjan Mozetich's Affairs of the Heart and Mendelssohn's Concerto for Violin and Piano. Arpad currently Associate Concertmaster of the Kindred Spirits Orchestra, works as a freelance musician and maintains private violin studios in Hamilton and Burlington.
