Claudia Lemcke

Claudia Lemcke studied piano and voice in her native Germany. While teaching piano she started her singing career as a chorister in the Düsseldorfer Kammerchor under the baton of Joachim Vogelsänger, giving her many solo opportunities. A sought after musician Ms. Lemcke appeared in the chorus of numerous operetta productions with the Rheinische Operetten Bühne and later in concert performances of operas with the Vocal Ensemble Rastatt and Editha Gruberova in the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. She has also sang with Toronto's finest ensembles such as Tafelmusik, Elmer Eiseler Singers, and Opera Atelier and as a soloist, Ms. Lemcke has performed with the Toronto Chamber Choir and Aradia Ensemble. Ms. Lemcke has established herself with her warm and clear voice as a versatile Mezzo Soprano, equally at home in art song and oratorio and has become a soloist in high demand. Throughout her career Ms. Lemcke has performed under the baton of renowned conductors such as Andrew Parrot, Helmuth Rilling, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Kristian Alexander, David Fallis, and Kevin Mallon. She tours through Germany every summer, giving recitals and performing with the German professional choir Vocalensemble Rastatt under the baton of Holger Speck with whom she recorded frequently for CARUS.
